Manticore

The ManticoreMossaesa, is an ever-present image in our national symbols. You might have seen it in our coat of arms, on our coins or in other places. You might have perhaps wondered why – it is an important creature in our foundational mythos, in our religion of Vvakēn, a religion based on ancient pagan traditions of the region. Mossaesa led mythical Sercesba to the heavens after she was finally born in the infinite lake before creation.

Mossaesa

In short, in the foundational mythos of the universe in our religion, the manticore led a proto-god that spawned other gods – namely Maeula – the goddess of the Earth and fertility (akin to Gaia or Terra) – to the heavens. Maeula eventually spawned Hanukch, the mythical founder of Mekniy. Thus, the lineage of our people, our land, and the whole universe, is traced to Sercesba and the Manticore that led her to heavens.
