REDWOOD CITY – The United States of Mekniy and Lurk have signed a convention condemning use of macronational legal instruments in purely micronational conflicts, proposed by Swéna of the Technocratic Republic of Aethodia. After providing a review of the initial draft in secret, the Kae Rāvenssae Kxaiji signed the third publicly released version, which contains only minor formatting corrections to the initial drafts.
This convention disallows and condemns the use of identity fraud, deplatforming, extortion and blackmail to resolve purely micronational matters, such as so-called civil wars – conflicts where a portion of the micronation splits off and claims to be the legitimate authority in the rest of the micronation. If, for example, one side would use dubious takedown requests on social media platforms to deplatform the other side, it would be considered in violation of this convention, and each signatory should deliberate how to proceed, with the convention suggesting de-recognition if any form of recognition is present, and ostracism of the perpetrator.
Crucially, this convention does not condemn the involvement of macronational (national police) authorities in settling matters which are not micronational – criminal matters, such as those concerning personal safety of micronationalists, are not to be condemned.
As of now, the convention is proposed to the Senate for ratification. Rāvenssae Kxaiji, who signed the treaty on behalf of Mekniy-Lurk, signed it as a means of condemnation of the worrying situation faced by our partners in the Empire of Austenasia, which was covered in an article by the Adammic Express.
