REDWOOD CITY – Kaae Rāvenssae Kxaiji, with full knowledge and support from Mēk Praeniy Naemal Seok announced that elections to our Senate will be taking place on the weekend of 1st of August 2026 and 2nd of August 2026, after being overdue for some time. Due to a lack of activity, our state did not schedule elections in over two years, thus violating our constitution’s demands of one annual election.
This announcement inspired one new political party to form, and one major existing political party to compete to reclaim its influence in the political arena.
The newly formed National Revival Party (Strana národní obnovy) declared its intentions first, and is led by Dalin Manchi-den, a long-time citizen of Mekniy-Lurk. It runs on the noble goals of reviving Mekniy and Lurk from inactivity by restoring the political process first, re-building the state’s digital infrastructure and, if the previous two goals are met, restoring our diplomatic presence in the community, by – for example – eventually returning to the Union of Micronations of Central Europe, which Lurk co-founded. Of course, with a culturally rich micronation as Mekniy is, the programme mentions protecting the culture, history and national identity of Mekniy.
The other party which announced its intentions, and submitted a party list up to this day, is the Green party. A traditional party of Mekniy-Lurk, it runs on many similar goals as the National Revival Party – restoration, protection and eventual expansion. It promises to promote our national cultural and natural heritage, restore the MBS broadcasting service, restoring our university and cooperating with micronational universities, reducing the amount of ministries, finishing the Seventh Constitution’s proposal, expanding our monetary Coronazone systems, expanding our digital systems and a national census, national park protection, and return to UMCE as well.
The Greens also hosted a party congress, where the programme and candidates were selected in an open primary.
The election has not seen any outright attack campaigns as of now, and it seems that both parties could eventually join forces in the new Senate to bring forward a new and active United States of Mekniy and Lurk.
